Why Theatre?

Growing up in Denver, I found my love for theatre in elementary school while playing the “starring” role of the Steward in Into the Woods Jr. This was the first time I was able to unabashedly be my goofy self without being reprimanded for it. Upon finishing my first show, I learned three fundamental truths: you should learn your lines before opening night (learned that the hard way), Into the Woods has a much darker and morally complex second act that wasn’t featured in my fifth grade production, and performing is something I want to pursue for the rest of my life. My love of theatre is fueled by my passion for human interaction. The creativity and dedication that go into theatre production help create a collaborative and supportive atmosphere that truly makes me feel at home.
